Job Description

Data QA Manager Summary: We are looking to augment our QA team with a team-focused, passionate manager to guide our team's efforts in designing, validating, and documenting data pipelines and game telemetry. Our team is committed to working closely with our data engineers and data scientists, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure validity of internal and external data feeds. The QA Manager position is responsible for the delivery of Quality Assurance (QA) for telemetry and data across a portfolio of games. Day to day responsibilities include leading the lifecycle of 2K telemetry and data product(s) through pre-production data and post launch live services data. You will champion the quality of our games' and services' data, support the productivity and management of your team, and maintain and improve the efficiency of our processes. You will need to build relationships across the organization to ensure the team can respond quickly and proactively to data stakeholders' needs. Our goal is to develop leaders and ensure our team is equipped to meet a constantly evolving and growing studio environment. You will be responsible for a team consisting of Data QA Testers, matrix resources, and potentially external vendors, while managing their performance and professional development to meet the current and future needs of the business. This position requires prior experience working across AAA games and/or data products. Candidates with this experience will be considered for this particular opportunity first. Responsibilities: People Management: Lead, mentor, and coach team members to develop team skills QA Leadership: Develop team efforts to perform data quality checks on multiple concurrent projects and set team KPI's for success and achievement, focusing on performance and development Project Management and Communications: Plan, prioritize, track, organize, and communicate QA efforts and needs with various data, analytics, and development teams while ensuring staff allocations can support daring development cycles Documentation: Create, maintain, and improve documentation for team processes, game telemetry data sets, standard methodologies, and useful knowledge Adaptability: Assess, create, and revise test strategies based on project scope changes Partnership: Develop a coordinated and harmonious working climate conducive to improving employee morale and productivity both within the team and with external partners Required Qualifications: Consistently is a positive role model to testers within the department Successfully handle ambiguity, flexibility, and understanding of the development process, while maintaining good relations with partners Ability to establish relationships with outstanding communication skills by demonstrating perseverance, positivity, and dedication and adapt to the different needs of various partners Ability to develop a team working on multiple projects simultaneously and to shift context with ease Some SQL or Python experience or ability to read and generally understand code An eye for detail—accuracy is crucial 5+ years QA and/or data experience or other related experience Sophisticated written and verbal communication in English Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally, sit for long periods and move between floors Bonus points for the following: Previous management/leadership experience Intermediate / Sophisticated SQL skills Game knowledge across many different genres and platforms Experience working with and/or testing data pipelines and technologies Ability to read and generally understand code (e.g. Python) Some data visualization experience (e.g. Tableau) Experience with agile methodologies / sprints Passion for games and the games industry #LI-Onsite
