Your software will take off and fly (and land). As an embedded software engineer, you will contribute to a global team that will create high quality products that meet rigid safety and airworthiness standards for flight.
Our department continues to push the technology envelope for processing technologies in everything from operating systems to user applications and the middleware which binds these together.

What YOU will do:
You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of flight-critical embedded software for military and commercial aviation solutions and avionics products.
You will utilize embedded Linux operating systems, C/C++ code, networking protocols, device drivers, hardware interface tools, simulations, and integrated development environments in creative ways for this new product.
You will specify requirements, implement software, develop test procedures, perform verification, and complete artifacts for certification.
You will contribute to the development of a project plan, including estimating task size, working dependencies, and discovering risks and opportunities.
You will participate in an engineering team by organizing tasks, coordinating team efforts, asking questions, communicating status, raising issues, brainstorming ideas, helping others, practicing active listening, and promoting a collaborative environment.

Education & Experience:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Skills You Must Have:
5+ years C/C++ programming experience utilizing the Linux build environment.
5+ years identifying complex problems, evaluating options, and developing solutions for software executing on real-time operating systems.
5+ years’ experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and development of solutions.
Skills We Value:
2+ years DO-178B experience (DAL A or B preferred)
2+ years’ experience with real-time operating systems (VxWorks or LynxOS)
5+ years’ Experience with software engineering processes and procedures, including writing software requirements, software design and implementation, functional and integration testing, writing test cases and test procedures, and software delivery support.
