Position Details: As a Senior SDET in Grainger Technology Group, you will lead and support quality engineering initiatives and solutions for Grainger products on cloud-hosted platforms and On-Prem in a continuous delivery model. As a member of Search organization, you will report to Manager, Product Engineering. You will be typically located in our downtown Chicago office and work in-person. You Will: Lead quality engineering programs and solutions for enterprise ecommerce applications such as Grainger.com Coach, mentor, and provide technical support and advisement to quality engineers and engineering teams. Hands-on development of quality engineering solutions such as test automation, test data provisioning, contract testing, and mocking/service virtualization Advocate for quality - promoting a quality mindset among the community of practice and product engineering teams. You Have: 6 years of programming experience with hands-on test automation experience (e.g. JavaScript, Java, Python) preferably Java Advanced experience in test automation including designing and enhancing frameworks, both UI and API/backend functional and non-functional testing (e.g. WebDriverIO, RestAssured, Gatling) Quality Engineering mindset as an advocate for quality with experience as QE embedded in product engineering teams Prior experience operating in a modern engineering environment Experience developing test strategy for ecommerce experience preferably search domain. Experience with hands on automated test development Create a QA strategy for managing multiple managing APIs. Experience with Agile software methodologies preferably SCRUM. Experience with CI/CD workflows and pipelines (e.g., Github, CircleCI, Bamboo) Understanding of Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery concepts Non-functional testing experience including performance and load, security, and accessibility testing Champion Grainger quality strategies like system testability and shifting left testing and Continuous testing. Review test code developed by test engineers and identify opportunities to enhance the current quality process Identify risks or friction in current quality infrastructure (Pipeline, testing gaps, environments, practices) Experience with mentoring quality engineers Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related disciplines, or equivalent work experience. Bonus: Experience with Apache SOLR, AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda), CICD tools (Bitbucket, CircleCI), Elastic Search and Linux.
