Who We Are:
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. It is accomplished through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD). A fourth area is the Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS), which is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers.

What is a Software Development Specialist 3 and what do they do?
At Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), a Software Development Specialist 3 (SDS3) supports the IT Strategy of Automation, Innovation and Modernization (AIM). We’re searching for skilled and experienced software development professionals with vision and passion to use technology to make a lasting impact in the lives of Ohioans with disabilities.
In the SDS3 role, you'll be collaborating with a team of highly skilled and experienced IT and business users in a variety of business domains to design, build and implement IT solutions to bring Automation, Innovation and Modernization (AIM) to complex and challenging business processes. OOD is using Microsoft’s .Net technology, Azure resources and C# applications to streamline business processes and improve the collection and distribution of data to support our business users through our AIM strategy.
You will work with business area personnel to assure requirements are thoroughly defined and approved; perform impact analyses to identify interdependencies; build and maintain C# .NET business applications; write and review application source code documentation; serve as technical lead to support junior level developers; create detailed test plans; create unit test and system test scripts; and, assist IT staff with estimating workload requirements.
At OOD, you’ll use Azure DevOps to deploy solutions through automated pipelines and use modern tools to analyze code and identify opportunities to refactor code to improve performance and security.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 36 months' combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 months' work experience in the primary technology (.NET Framework) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 42 months' combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 months' work experience in the primary technology (.NET Framework) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
OR
60 months' combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 months' work experience in the primary technology (.NET Framework) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
