Responsible, under the day-to-day supervision of the Water Systems Senior Engineer, for the planning and designing of the collection and distribution systems and treatment plants by performing the following duties.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide preliminary and detailed planning for construction projects.
- Assist with the coordination of engineering work activities within and outside the utility, including long-range planning studies and planning for construction projects.
- Review technical issues with system personnel with respect to system design, replacement, and repairs.
- Provide field observation for review of changes as needed on construction projects.
- Maintain computer hydraulic model of complete distribution and collection system; perform hydraulic analysis, on a routine basis, evaluating main sizes, tank size/location, and pump size/location. Review current system data and trends.
- Assist with the development of capital improvement plan (CIP); future growth studies, rate applications, impact fees, etc.
- Coordinate with manufacturer's representatives regarding construction material specifications; approves related manufacturer material shop drawings.
- Represent Company at bid openings and planning meetings, as required.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Water / Wastewater Modeling software
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Required: Arkansas Registered Engineer Intern or Professional Engineer.
- Arkansas Wastewater Treatment Operator, Class IV license, or must obtain license within term specified by management.
- Arkansas Water Treatment and Distribution System Operator, Grade IV license, or must obtain license within term specified by management.
- Professional trade association membership preferred.
- Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver’s License and meet the requirements of the Conway Corporation’s insurance provider.
OTHER:
- Ability to plan and coordinate small to large projects independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Strong organizational skills and decision-making ability.
- Must be able to work non-scheduled hours when directed.
- Must live within a 30-minute response time of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway in case of an emergency or trouble.
